Items Needed: (for 48 cookies)
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 large egg (beaten)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
Extra granulated sugar for dipping glass in

Beat sugar and butter until fluffy.

Add beaten egg and vanilla

Mix dry ingredients together and add to sugar and butter mixture.

Roll dough into walnut-sized balls.

Place balls on a greased cookie sheet and press out the balls with the bottom of the glass dipped in sugar.

Bake in preheated 350º F oven for 12 minutes
